okay, i have to say...

the Avengers was very good.  of course, the case could be made that i'm biased because a) i'm a girl and it's mostly cute males, b) i like superhero movies, and c) again, it's mostly comprised of cute males.  that said, i only noticed that the movie was starting to feel long once...during the Transformers-like fight scene in New York.  Seriously, does any bad guy or alien know of any other major city to attack??

in other news, the puppies are adorable!  well, they are always adorable, and i miss them so when i have to leave for any extended period of time (ahem: work).  Linus has enrolled in training classes, which are is good for him, and he is the cute pup in the class.  Lulu is, of course, still being a queen.  :)

generally speaking, the more i work out the less junk food i want to eat.  and the reverse could also be said to be true...soooo, when i'm vacationing at home all i want to do is eat, and eat, and eat.  since this overwhelming appetite can't possibly be only contributed to a few days lack of exercise, what is it?  is this boredom?  depression?  an over-attack of happiness since i'm with my adorable puppies?

[sighs]

PS - i found a new tv show that i like - Covert Affairs.  seriously, the list of shows i like watching keeps growing this year!  the tally is now up to 6.  Once Upon A Time for their masterful ability to weave together all sorts of fairy tales, even those not written by the same people (ex. what is the Mad Hatter doing in the same town with Pinocchio and Snow White?), Missing with Ashley Judd, NCIS because who doesn't watch that show?, Burn Notice because Michael Westin is hilarious and has enormous patience for a man with that many familial issues, and Gossip Girls, the typical NYC show (although it's getting really old and a little too convoluted at this point).

PPS - i've just realized that most of the shows i watch are spy-related in some way.

Happy Friday :)

alriiiiiiiight,
it has come to my attention that i don't blog enough.

i knew that already!! (and just can't find the time).  but thanks J for the reminder...so here goes an update into the always-busy life of yours truly:

since the last time on here (ahem: September), i had a lovely, delightful and all-too-short week and a half trip to Europe with my baby sister; flew to NYC for a mini-cation right before Thanksgiving; spent a lovely and snow-less winter with the family; and then moved up to NYC for a contract job in jewelry.  that last part - the job in jewelry - took me to the Golden Globes, the Oscars, the California Mille and various other fun and fancy little day trips.

and, wonderfully enough, these glittery work trips caused a shrinking waistline and a growing wardrobe...not something a female ever really complains about.  lol.

now it's summer...which means long days at the beach; warmed evening parties with friends; patriotic fireworks; frivolous reading and hopefully, a tan.  :)

Almost Here...

Yay! It's almost Friday!
This week has been so busy...and I don't feel altogether too productive either. But, hopefully that will change in the next few weeks as some of the new processes start to become the norm, and the dust settles.

Today was Tonya's birthday, so we celebrated with Dunk & Grind donuts for breakfast. Seriously. The. Best. Donuts around here. Then, for some reason...that wasn't enough junk food for my hips...so I had apple pie for lunch and [a small helping of] strawberry ice cream for dinner.

It sounds horrible now that the menu for today has been solidified in print. Online. For the world to read. I'm either under a ton of stress, or hoping to get onto America's Biggest Loser. (Pretty sure it isn't the latter one).

So, tomorrow, it's a liquid diet for me. sigh.

Wow Ruth!

Um, wow. Who knew that I was gone so long? I certainly didn't.
I'm soooo sorry for neglecting my blogging duties! And, in the interest of catching up some lost time, here's how the last [several] months went:
  1. Work became rawwwwther busy & a lot of changes occurred.
    This is another story.

  2. I painted my room purple, and bought a whole array of house goods.
    Darn you, TJ Maxx.

  3. I met the sibs in the Charlotte airport one long summer night, and we went to Cali "on the fly"...it was so nice to see my dad's side of the family! I had so much fun with J & H. xoxo
  4. My grandfather passed away rather unexpectedly.
  5. H came home for a mini-vacay and we raced off to Savannah with the pooches to see J. Can I just say, she isn't a good navigator and the"map app." on her phone sucks? Oh, bonding time...
  6. J came up for a visit one weekend and all we did was hike in the mountains. Seriously. Every day. The dogs had a good work-out. I really think this should count as my summer exercise plan. Pretty please?
  7. Work became even more busy. Yes, apparently this IS possible.
And, that folks, is the summer in six points or less. Am I good or what? Now...drumroll...On the radar for the next few months - my favorite months:
  1. Take my second major vacation for the year. (In case you missed it, Cali was the 1st).
  2. Buy a new, sophisticated pair of leopard-print heels.
  3. Dye the hair.
  4. Do something I haven't done before.
We'll see how it goes. Now, I must get off here before I become a computaholic.

Good night. xoxo.

Please, Oh Please, Oh Please...

Dear Fall,
Can you please just hurry up and get here already? Not that I don't love your sister Summer...but you are just so much cooler than her!
I'll be seeing you. :)

xoxo,
Ruthie
